How to type the section § and paragraph ¶ symbols using the keyboard?

Quickly and efficiently use the § and ¶ symbols in the your citations in any program using the keypad numbers on your keyboard.

• For the section symbol §, hold the ALT key, then type 0167 on the keypad.
  
• For the paragraph or pilcrow symbol ¶, hold the ALT key, then type 0182 on the keypad.
  

A couple of things to note: 

1. it won't work on the numbers lined up at the top of the keyboard.  You need to use the keypad keys.
   
2. If you're using a laptop with no keypad, you may need to hold the ALT+Fn button and then locate the keypad numbers on the keyboard (look at the J, K, L keys).  You'll need to experiment a bit since every laptop is a little different.
